Do I need an account? No. Learn4Coins works without one, and everything stays on that device. An account is what lets progress follow a child between a phone, an iPad and the website, and it is required to buy a gift card inside the app.
Does my child need their own login? No, and they cannot have one. There is one account per household and it belongs to the grown-up. Children never sign in and never have a password.
How do I set up my child's own iPad? On your device, open the Parent tab, enter your PIN, and tap the phone icon beside your child's name. You get an eight-character code. On their device, open Learn4Coins and tap “Setting up their device? Enter a code”, then type it in. The code works once and expires in an hour. Your child never types your password.
What are coins worth? Nothing, on purpose. Coins are points. They cannot be bought, sold, transferred between children, or exchanged for money. They are earned only by answering questions, and the only thing they do is unlock a gift card that you sealed into the vault yourself.
How do I put a prize in the vault? Parent tab → PIN → Seal a gift card. Buy the card wherever you normally would, paste in the code, and set what it costs in coins. Your child sees the card and how far off it is, but not the code, until they have earned it. We take nothing on top of a card you bought yourself, and never will.
My child unlocked a code — can I undo it? No. Once a code has been shown, we treat it as spent, because it may already have been redeemed. See the Refund Policy.
They are earning coins too fast / too slowly. Parent tab → PIN → Earning. Set coins per correct answer, the daily goal, and an optional daily limit.
Can I choose what they practise? Yes. On the practice screen pick the subject, then which kind of maths (times, division, adding, subtracting, fractions of a number, equivalent fractions) and which part — all tables, or just the 7s, or a band like 4, 5, 6. Turn on word problems to meet the same facts inside sentences.
How do I add my child's spelling list from school? Parent tab → PIN → Spelling lists → Add a list. Type the words one per line, or photograph the handout. The photo is read on your own device and is never uploaded or saved to your library. Check the words it found before saving — a photograph of a crumpled worksheet is not always read perfectly.
What is the prize box? A once-a-day surprise handful of coins, inside a range you set. Parent tab → PIN → Earning → Daily prize box, where you can also turn it off, or make it something they get only after finishing the day's goal.
A streak disappeared. A streak needs a day of practice each day. Miss one day and a banked freeze covers it automatically — freezes are earned every fifth day, up to two. Miss two days in a row and the streak starts again. Your best-ever streak is kept regardless.
What am I paying for? The vault — sealing a real gift card away so your child has to earn it. Everything else is free: every subject, every level, coins, streaks, badges, spelling lists, and every child in your household on every device.
Are gift cards included? No, and they are not marked up either. Codes bought here cost the value on the card plus two fees that are not ours: the distributor's flat charge of about a dollar per order, and card processing. We add nothing on top. You can also buy a card anywhere else and paste the code into the vault at no extra cost.
What happens if I cancel? Practising carries on exactly as before — that part is free. You can still open any card already sealed in the vault; you just cannot seal new ones until you resubscribe. Nothing is ever deleted.
How do I cancel? If you subscribed on an iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Learn4Coins. If you subscribed on the website: Parent tab → Subscription. You keep access to the end of the period you have paid for.
I already pay on the website — will I be charged twice on iOS? No. The app checks your account first and shows “Active through learn4coins.com”, and will not ask for money.
How do I delete everything? Parent tab → PIN → Account → Delete my account. You type DELETE to confirm. It erases every child, their coins, streaks and progress, and any codes still sealed in the vault, on our servers and on the device. It cannot be undone, so redeem anything you still want first. If you have a subscription it is cancelled first — and if that cancellation fails, nothing is deleted, so you are never left paying for an account that is gone.
What do you collect? As little as possible, and never for advertising. The Privacy Policy lists it item by item.
